Dale Kennedy

KENNEDY, MR. DALE New Era Mr. Dale Kennedy, age 59, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 26th after a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born May 8, 1949 to Audrey June (Fairchild) and Neil Kennedy. Dale was raised in Hesperia. He eventually moved to New Era, where he raised his family. He had been a Tool and Die maker for more than 35 years, having worked the last 13 years for Automated Industrial Motion. He also served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. Dale was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and was excellent at shooting his bow. He enjoyed riding ATV's and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Jason Kennedy and Chad Kennedy; step-sons, Michael Scheffler and Mark Scheffler; parents, Neil and June Kennedy; sister, Sandy (Tom) Hiddema; sisters-in-law, Judy (Roger) Herin, Paula Nemeth, and Beverly (Alan) Asp; brother-in-law, Greg (Linda) Beecham; and father and mother-in-law, Bill and Helen Beecham; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Kennedy.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, June 29, 5-7 P.M., at the Tate-King Funeral Home in Hart. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. from the Hesperia Presbyterian Church. Service set for New Era man killed in motorcycle crash

NEW ERA — Friends and family of a 59-year-old New Era man killed Thursday while riding his motorcycle on U.S. 31 will gather for a funeral service Monday.

Dale Lynn Kennedy was pronounced dead at the 3:59 p.m. Thursday accident scene at northbound U.S. 31 in Whitehall Township, north of the Colby Street exit.

Police said Kennedy's motorcycle was struck by a van that was crossing two lanes of U.S. 31 to reach a median turnaround. The accident remains under investigation by the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department.

Prior to his death, Kennedy worked as a tool and diemaker for 35 years, had served in the U.S. Army and was an avid sportsman, according to family members.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Tate-King Funeral Home, 2370 N. 72nd, in Hart.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hesperia Presbyterian Church.

The family has requested donations be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Michigan or Oceana Archery Club.

Remembering Dale Kennedy
